FAQ Regarding EWS Admission



Q-1.What is ews?

Ans;-EWS Stands for- Economically Weaker Section.

Q-2.Who will be treated as ews?

Ans:-A Person who`s total annual family Income from all sources is below Rs 1 Lac per annum and person belong to disadvantage group will be treated as EWS Category. (note–the limit may be different state by state)

Q-3.what is the income limit for ews category admission/quota admission in private school of Delhi for session 2014-15?

Ans:-Rs 1 Lac per. Annum family income

Q-4.What is EWS Quota admission?

Ans:--There is 410 private schools who have allotted free land in Delhi for running schools. These schools have to provide free education to 25% of total seats. All Schools shall admit children in class one to the extent of at least twenty-five % (25%) of the strength of that class, children belongingto weaker sections (i.e. EWS) and disadvantaged groups in neighborhood and provide free and compulsory elementary education till its completion: Provided that where such school imparts pre-school education, the provisions shall apply for admission to such pre-school education.


Q-5.What is disadvantage group?
Ans:-A child belongs to:-
Ø  Schedule tribe
Ø  Schedule caste
Ø  Other backward cast (list) non-creamy layer only
Ø  child with special needs and suffering from disability

Q-6.What is the rules of ews admission nursery 2014-15/ free ship admission rules?
Ans:-Basic rules for  EWS Category admission Nursery 2014-15 who`s:-
Ø  Total annual family income less than Rs 1 Lac per annum from all sources.
Ø  Parents must  have been staying in Delhi for the last three years.
Ø  There is no income limit for families belongs to schedule tribe and Schedule cast.

Q-7.Who can apply/ How to apply under ews quota admission category for admission in private school delhi for 2014-15?
Ans:-If you fulfill the basic rules you can apply under EWS Quota Admission. (for Basic Rules see Q no-5)

Q-8.What kinds of documents required to apply under ews admission for public/private school of Delhi?
Ans:-Documents required for EWS Admission are:-
Ø  Income Certificate
Ø  Birth Proof Of Child
Ø  Address proof
Ø  Caste Certificate (in Case of SC/ST/OBC Candidates only)
Q-9.Is a govt. employee/central govt. employee/state Govt. employee/Delhi govt. employee. Public sector employee/service man can apply under ews quota admission in private schools of delhi?
Ans:-Yes, if a person belongs to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer only) Category, then he can apply for admission under this category.

Q-10.Is the income limit is applicable in case of SC/ST/OBC category admission?
Ans:-No, there is no maximum income limit for SC/ST candidates. But for OBC Candidates only Non-Creamy Layer candidates can Apply

Q-11.What is income certificate? 
Ans:-Income certificate is issued by sdm office of your zone, in which a declaration by individual about his income and on which a certificate is issued by sdm office that the income of your family is what you have mention in the application is correct.

Q-13.What is cast certificate? And where to/how to apply for cast certificate?

Q-14.What is DAMC?
Ans-DAMC stand for District Admission  Monitoring Committee.

Q-15.Can school can arrange separate classes for ews students?
Ans-No, no school can arrange separate classes for ews students.

Q-16.Can schools charge any fee with EWS students?
Ans-No, Not in any way.

Q-17.What are the other free benefits of EWS Students? (School dress Books and Copies)
Ans .the other benefits to ews candidates are- the school have to provide free book, copies and dress to ews admissions.

Q-18.What if the no. form is more than the no of seats available?
Ans:-In case the number of applications for admission against the free seats at entry level classes exceeds the number of seats available, admission shall be made by draw of lots.

Q-19.Weather govt pay any fee to schools for providing free education to EWS Admission students?
Ans- yes, Govt Pay Rs-1190/- per child admitted as EWS Students

Q-20.What to do when a school does not follow the rules of ews admission?
Ans:-You can complaint to Education officer of your area.
